9. Pre-Existing Conditions, Pet Urine, and Technician Inspection

Pre-Existing Conditions

Before beginning services, technicians from Walker’s Carpet Care & Janitorial Service may conduct a visual inspection of the areas to be cleaned.

Customers acknowledge that certain conditions may exist prior to cleaning, including but not limited to:

  • Worn or deteriorated carpet fibers
  • Loose seams or damaged carpet backing
  • Pet urine contamination or odor
  • Pre-existing stains or discoloration
  • Carpet delamination or adhesive failure
  • Loose tile, grout, or flooring materials
  • Furniture staining, fading, or structural weakness

Cleaning processes may reveal, expose, or worsen pre-existing conditions that were not visible before service began.

Walker’s Carpet Care & Janitorial Service is not responsible for damage, deterioration, or conditions that existed prior to the cleaning service.

Pet Urine and Contamination

Pet urine may permanently damage carpet fibers, carpet backing, padding, and subfloor materials.

Professional cleaning and treatment may significantly improve the appearance and odor of affected areas; however, complete stain or odor removal cannot be guaranteed.

Severe contamination may require additional services including:

  • Deep cleaning
  • Enzyme treatment
  • Deodorizing treatments
  • Padding replacement
  • Subfloor treatment
  • Restoration services

Additional charges may apply when pet contamination is present.

Technician Inspection Notice

If technicians identify a condition that may present a risk during cleaning, Walker’s Carpet Care & Janitorial Service may:

  • Notify the customer before proceeding
  • Recommend alternative cleaning methods
  • Recommend additional treatment or restoration services
  • Decline service in affected areas if necessary

If the customer authorizes service to continue after being notified of potential risks, the customer accepts responsibility for those risks.

Pre-Existing Damage Waiver

By authorizing services, the customer acknowledges and agrees that:

  • Walker’s Carpet Care & Janitorial Service is not responsible for damage resulting from pre-existing conditions.
  • Normal cleaning processes may expose previously hidden damage, stains, odors, or structural weaknesses.
  • Walker’s Carpet Care & Janitorial Service’s liability, if any, is limited to the cost of the cleaning services performed.

10. Drying Time and Slip Risk

Carpet and upholstery cleaning may require 6 to 24 hours drying time, depending on humidity, airflow, and carpet type.

During this time:

  • Floors and carpets may be damp
  • Slipping hazards may exist

Walker’s Carpet Care & Janitorial Service is not responsible for injuries or damages resulting from walking on damp surfaces.

Customers are encouraged to limit foot traffic until surfaces are fully dry.

11. Water Damage and Restoration Services

Water damage restoration services may involve the placement of drying equipment, air movers, and dehumidifiers.

Customers must:

  • Allow equipment to operate continuously
  • Maintain electrical power to equipment
  • Follow technician instructions

Interrupting drying equipment may delay restoration and affect results.
